In the Presence Of Royalty - the Bracelet and the Earrings

There are some things in life that just make a person feel so regal, just like royalty. This bracelet will definately be one of those possessions.

These are an absolutely gorgeous piece of wearable art. The baroque style earrings and bracelet are entirely handcrafted from scratch. They are made from beautiful faceted Rhodocrosite beads, which look quite purplish next to the sterling silver, which I heavily oxidized to give it depth and the beauty of age. The sterling silver links are wire wrapped, but I've also soldered them under those wraps for extra strength. The earrings hang from silver plated chains, which in turn hang from oxidized sterling silver ear wires.The earrings are 2.75 inches (6.19cm) long from the top of the ear wire and are 1 inch (2.25cm) wide at the widest point. The bracelet is 7.5 inches (16.88cm) long and 1 inch (2.25cm) wide.

Steampunk Bracelet

I'm going through a new phase with my jewelry making - It's my steampunk phase. For those of you who don't know what it is, steampunk is a fashion trend that has been around for quite some time, but is really hitting mainstream big right now. It is kind of a mix between Victorian and industrial. Think movies like Time Machine and the Golden Compass. The jewelry in this fashion almost always has some sort of watch movements or gears somewhere in it.

Time Flies One of a Kind Steampunk Bracelet


"As we grow older, it's amazing how quickly time seems to fly past us. The days pass by so quickly that before we know it, days turn into years.

This gorgeous piece seems to have come right from the past, but will still fit into your modern day wardrobe. This cuff is pretty enough to be worn by a woman, yet masculine enough that it could be worn by a man.

The base of this cuff is copper, which I cut and filed into this shape. Then I heavily oxidized it to give it the dark titanium appearance. I then etched the filigree "wings" into the sides , bringing back out the gorgeous copper color. The center silver plated filigree piece and the antique watch movoment were then soldered into place.

This is a large adjustable cuff. It will fit wrist sizes of 7 inches (6.75mm) and up. The cuff is 1 inch (2.25mm) wide."

Copper Viking Knit Bracelet

Viking knitting, one of the oldest known forms of knitting, is a looping technique that preceded traditional knitting by centuries. Many of these chains were found buried in tombs of some of the most famous and powerful Vikings. It is so lightweight it feels like lace!

This bracelet was quite a challenge for me (yay! I love challenges!). I have seen several tutorials online, but not one of them showed you how to finish it off and attach a clasp.

The weave turned out to be quite easy and went together really quickly. I even made my own homemade drawplate for this project. A drawplate is a metal or wood plate with holes of varied sizes through which wire is drawn to get the desired thickness.

Finally after about 4 tries, I think I finally figured out how to finish it off. Here's one way, and I know how to do one other way too. I've even promised some of my fellow jewelry makers on the forum that I would try to come up with some sort of tutorial for it. Guess I better get working eh?
